Urban Planning & Urban Design
I am fascinated by people
and their ability to carry on with their lives,
despite their hurdles, challenges, and adversities.
This persistent indefatigable zeal in human beings
pushes them to keep at their aspirations,
to accomplish great things.
In observing, understanding, and planning
for urban environments that bring people together,
and offer respite for growth, advancement, and a plausible future,
we get to design cities that make people do more, play more, live more.
How can we plan for the sustainable use of our resources to build a future we are both proud and grateful to inhabit?
Cities are what people make of them -
they’re near and dear to us,
they hold memories,
they function like clockwork,
they have a mind of their own,
one that’s always waiting to be understood …
understood just a bit better than a moment before

Report on New York City
This is a report compiled for the Planning Methods class during my Master’s at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I chose to study the city of New York. This report is designed to function as a preliminary study about the city, a starting point to ask deeper questions.

Diversity
This is a paper I wrote for my Planning Theory class addressing a topic of interest and importance, diversity. What did planners mean when they wrote about diversity? What does the word mean now, and most importantly, how is it relevant for planning? I tackle an interesting contradiction in planning for diversity today. Read to dig in!
